What is saved
CodeQuest saves your login details, chosen display name and avatar, lessons and quizzes, generated practice answers, mistake categories, hints, mastery and review dates, answers and code, progress, rewards, class membership, assignments and teacher feedback. It does not record detailed mouse movement, keystroke logs, typing rhythm or device fingerprints for practice. It also keeps limited security records.
Why
This lets you continue learning, shows what you have completed, checks genuine learning before awarding rewards, and lets a teacher support you after you join their class.
Who can see it
You can see your own work. A teacher can see your work only through a class they control. Classmates and public visitors cannot see your private answers or detailed progress. Your public profile is off because CodeQuest has no public profiles.
Choices
Optional analytics and advertising are off for student accounts. CodeQuest does not ask for your exact birthday or location. You do not have to agree to marketing to learn.
How long
Information is kept only for an approved purpose. Exact periods still need business and legal approval. You can ask what is held, ask for a correction, or ask for deletion.
Ask for help
Use the privacy centre or speak to a trusted teacher, parent or guardian. If a parent asks for your information, CodeQuest must still consider your understanding, privacy, safety and best interests.
Something worrying
Use the safeguarding report if something may put a child at risk. CodeQuest is not an emergency service; call 999 if someone is in immediate danger.
